Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Highlights AI Initiatives at Computex in Taiwan

Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang, a native of Tainan, Taiwan, will open the Computex trade show in Taipei with a speech emphasizing Taiwan’s central role in the AI industry. Huang, who leads the $5 trillion chipmaker, recently announced plans to invest approximately $150 billion annually in Taiwan, positioning it as a key player in the AI revolution.

Investment and Innovation

The speech, scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Taipei Music Hall, follows Huang’s recent trip to Beijing with U.S. President Donald Trump, where they met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Huang is expected to discuss Nvidia’s advancements in AI chips, software, and systems, with a focus on data center products like the new Vera Rubin AI computing platform and CPU, as well as developments in robotics and autonomous driving.

Nvidia’s plans include constructing a new Taiwan headquarters, set to be operational by 2030, to strengthen ties with key supplier TSMC. This move underscores the strategic importance of Taiwan in Nvidia’s operations, particularly in the production of advanced semiconductors for AI systems.

Market Competition

Among the anticipated topics is Nvidia’s reported efforts to develop an Arm-based PC chip to compete with industry giants Intel and Advanced Micro Devices. These chips, designed over a two-year period, are tailored for consumer hardware with AI capabilities.

During the company’s recent quarterly results announcement, Huang reassured investors of Nvidia’s ability to sustain its growth trajectory, projecting $1 trillion in sales for its flagship AI chips. The Computex event itself is expected to draw 1,500 exhibitors from 33 countries, with speeches from other industry leaders like Intel and Qualcomm.
