Madison families and friends have several wholesome activities to kick off November, all highlighted by WMTV and Destination Madison. Leigh Mills sat down with Destination Madison’s Rob Gard to discuss the weekend’s lineup.
Friday jazz at Tandem Press
Music lovers can head to Tandem Press on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the venue’s Friday Jazz Series. The intimate setting offers a chance to enjoy live jazz while supporting local musicians.
First Fridays on Monroe Street
If jazz isn’t your preference, the First Fridays on Monroe Street event provides an early holiday‑shopping opportunity. Gard explained, “It’s a chance to stroll Monroe Street; many businesses stay open a little later, they’ll have specials and snacks inside. It’s a great time of year to get out and explore, maybe get a little ahead of your holiday shopping.” The event runs the first Friday of each month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Madison Herb Fair at Olbrich Botanical Garden
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Olbrich Botanical Garden hosts the Madison Herb Fair. Visitors can browse a variety of fresh herbs, perfect for seasoning Thanksgiving meals, and enjoy the garden’s beautiful surroundings.
The Harvest Table in Spring Green
For a family‑style dinner celebrating the season, the Riverview Terrace Café in Spring Green is offering The Harvest Table. If the weekend schedule doesn’t work, the same dinner will be served on December 5 and December 19, giving residents multiple chances to attend.
