Norwood Skyline Chili on Montgomery Road is coming together to support the family of Alyssa Hill, a 27-year-old waitress who was fatally stabbed while working at the restaurant last week. The community is rallying around Hill’s family, with the restaurant donating 20% of its proceeds to a trust fund for her two children over the next week.
Local Fundraiser
Steve Misleh, the owner of the Norwood Skyline Chili, is leading the fundraising effort. Misleh described Hill as a warm, hardworking, and determined single mother who was striving to build a better life for her children. The restaurant’s fundraiser is open to the public, and customers can contribute by dining in or taking out from the restaurant.
Alexis Ellis, who works at a nearby business, shared how her colleagues placed a large order to contribute to the fundraiser. Ellis added that her group opted for takeout instead of dining in due to the high turnout. In addition to the restaurant’s fundraiser, Skyline Chili Corporation and Coca-Cola are donating $25,000 each to help Hill’s children.
