Registration opened June 1 with 300 businesses representing about 10,000 jobs. By Tuesday, the totals had climbed to more than 550 employers and 30,000 opportunities. Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling praised Van Duyne’s leadership during a press conference, calling the event ‘the Super Bowl’ of job fairs.
Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector Rick Barnes said the job fair provides opportunities for employers and residents looking to enter the workforce or advance their careers. Texas House District 94 Republican nominee Cheryl Bean and Texas House District 93 Republican nominee Alan Blaylock also attended the event, highlighting the importance of job opportunities for families and veterans.
