Plano‑based nonprofit My Possibilities and the North Texas Disability Chamber announced a new partnership aimed at turning disability‑inclusion talk into real jobs. The North Texas Inclusive Employment Collaborative will connect local employers with education, resources and networking opportunities to expand hiring of individuals with disabilities.
Combining Resources for Greater Impact
The collaboration merges My Possibilities’ existing eMPloy Network with the Chamber’s corporate relationships. The Chamber, which also runs programs such as the Texas Disability Hall of Fame, hopes the joint effort will raise awareness of the contributions Texans with disabilities make to the workforce.
Why Inclusive Hiring Matters
“At My Possibilities, we know employment is about more than earning a paycheck. It is about purpose, independence and being recognized for the value each person brings,” said My Possibilities CEO Tod Marvin in an official statement. Marvin added that the partnership is designed to move employers “from interest to action,” creating workplaces where people of all abilities can contribute meaningfully.
Opportunities for Employers
Through the Collaborative, participating businesses will gain access to educational programs, employer‑focused events, site visits and other engagement tools. The initiative builds on the eMPloy Network’s existing work, which links companies with qualified job seekers who have disabilities and provides ongoing support for successful placements.
“North Texas is home to companies ready to lead on disability inclusion, and this Collaborative will give them a stronger pathway to learn, connect and act,” said North Texas Disability Chamber President and CEO Dylan M. Rafaty.
Looking Ahead
While the partners have not set specific targets for employer participation or job placements, they plan to grow involvement throughout 2027. An inaugural recognition event is slated for October 2027, bringing together business leaders and community advocates to discuss best practices and celebrate employers that demonstrate strong disability‑inclusive hiring.
The Collaborative reflects a broader trend in North Texas toward more equitable employment practices, aligning with the region’s reputation for business innovation and community stewardship. By providing concrete tools and a supportive network, the initiative aims to make inclusive hiring a standard rather than an exception.
Local employers interested in joining the effort can contact My Possibilities or the North Texas Disability Chamber for more information on upcoming programs and events.
