Band Director Joe Santanello described the season as a “fresh start,” noting that one‑third of the ensemble—36 new members—joined the program this year. “We’re excited to have 36 new members in the band, a lot of youth, a lot of energy. We’re thinking it’s going to be a really special year,” Santanello said.

Senior quads player Carter Rhea explained the demanding schedule that makes such performances possible: “We practice 5 times a week, about three hours a day, and that does not include the practicing at home to get ready for the practice.”

Beyond the music, senior baritone player Kate Sullivan emphasized how the commitment teaches valuable life skills. “Being in marching band is a great way to learn how to manage that schedule and learn how to manage your time with school and other activities,” she said.
For many students, the experience opens doors beyond the high school campus. Junior color guard member Grace Coleman shared her excitement about performing at a Philadelphia Eagles game and appearing on live television, noting that the marching band has taken her to “so many cool places.”

The audience’s reaction matched the band’s enthusiasm. Mellophone player Nathan Cherry described the atmosphere during the football game: “Definitely smiles, laughter sometimes during the football game. You can see them jumping with the band.”
