New Mexico State’s fall camp is well underway and into its second week. The Aggies have completed nine practices, with five more to go before their season opener against Florida State on August 29.
Notable Performances
Quarterback Trey Hedden, who was named the starter after practice, completed his first pass of the day. Backup quarterback Adam Damante followed with two short completions to tight end Josiah Thomas and wide receiver Lyndon Ravare.
Two safeties, returner DJ Cloyd and Cincinnati transfer Tayden Barnes, each made pass breakups. Cloyd’s was on an out route thrown by junior college recruit Kalani McLeod, while Barnes’ was thrown by Damante over the middle.
The defense made six total interceptions during team periods, with Merrimack transfer safety RJ Chapman making three interceptions. Tennessee Tech transfer defensive tackle Jeremiah Sandiford also earned a moment when he made a camp sack on Hedden.
