The community of Lanesville, Indiana, gathered to support the Lanesville Youth League after floodwaters damaged several baseball and softball fields, causing over $1 million in damage.
Rebuilding Efforts
The league’s parents are working to rebuild the fields, with a goal of raising $60,000 to get the 285 kids who belong to the league back in the dugout. The community came together for a fundraising event, featuring live music, raffles, auctions, and more.
Local organizations, such as Shirley’s Way, also contributed to the cause, matching all donations up to $25,000. The league hopes to get back on the fields for opening day in the spring.
