Nick Hogan and partner to open Hulk Hogan SLAM Sports Bar near Madison Square Garden

New York City will soon gain a new sports‑bar destination that blends professional‑wrestling nostalgia with modern game‑day excitement. Nick Hogan, son of the late Hulk Hogan, and longtime New Yorker Rich Rosen disclosed that their joint venture, Hulk Hogan SLAM Sports Bar, will open on the sidewalk directly outside the entrance to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

Location and concept

Both Hogan and Rosen emphasized the bar’s proximity to the arena as a key draw. “The location is so special – it’s right next door to Madison Square Garden, at the entrance to the Garden and Penn Station,” Hogan told OutKick. The venue is being designed as a “central hub spot” for New Yorkers and visitors who attend concerts, Knicks games, Rangers matches or other major events at the Garden.

Rosen, who has attended events at the Garden since the 1970s, said the project aims to recreate the atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s when Hulkamania dominated the city’s pop‑culture scene. He added that the bar will feature sound and lighting effects supplied by ICRAVE to give patrons a “throwback” feel while they watch live sports and classic wrestling footage.

Family‑friendly focus

According to the partners, the bar will cater to families and multi‑generational fans. “We want people to step back in time when Hulkamania took over New York City and enjoy a simpler, more fun experience,” Rosen explained. The venue will include a main “Slam Room” where classic wrestling matches are shown alongside contemporary sports broadcasts, allowing guests to celebrate past icons while cheering on today’s teams.

Nick Hogan said the project is a way to honor his father’s legacy and to bridge the gap between past, present and future. “My dad always said Hulkamania will outlive the man. It’s extremely important to me to carry that legacy forward,” Hogan said. He added that the bar will serve as a gathering place for friends, family and longtime fans.

Economic impact

The new bar is expected to add jobs and generate additional foot traffic for nearby businesses in the Penn Station corridor. Rosen, who has experience developing hospitality concepts in the city, believes the venue will become a “worthy spot” alongside the Garden’s own entertainment offerings.

While the exact opening date has not been announced, both partners expressed confidence that construction is progressing quickly and that the grand opening will feature special events for the wrestling community.
