Four New Jersey teenagers were rescued from Mount Lincoln in New Hampshire after a 12-hour effort. The 18-year-olds had called for help at 8:48 p.m. on Friday due to one of the group complaining of difficulty breathing and leg soreness.
Rescue Efforts
The Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team and a conservation officer headed up to Franconia Ridge, finding the teens on Mount Lincoln about 1:15 a.m. The rescue crew gave the hikers lights, warm clothes, water, and food and took them up Mount Lafayette and down the Old Bridal Path.
The group started their trip, a seven- to nine-hour hike, at 3:30 p.m. on Friday but were unprepared for the conditions, leading to the rescue. The department said the group is expected to be billed for the cost of the rescue due to their lack of preparation.
