Caroline Harvey, a 23-year-old defender from Pelham, New Hampshire, is one of the most accomplished players in women’s hockey. She is coming off a senior season in which she won a third NCAA title and was named college hockey’s MVP.

Harvey’s Journey

Harvey’s journey to becoming an elite hockey player began when she was a youngster, attending her older brother’s practices and later moving to Rochester, New York, to attend the BK Selects hockey academy. She delayed her first college season to make her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Games.

After being sidelined by a left knee injury early into her sophomore season at Wisconsin, Harvey learned to have more balance in her life. She started doing yoga, breathing exercises, and cooking, and even thrifting. This experience taught her a lot about herself and helped her mature as a person and a player.

Harvey is now projected to go first in the PWHL draft, with Vancouver holding the No. 1 pick. She is considered one of the most talented prospects in the league, with a strong and gifted skating ability and a deft playmaking skill.

U.S. coach John Wroblewski believes Harvey deserves to go first, saying, ‘The accolades that she’s racked up before she’s even graduated college is unprecedented. It’s a no-brainer.’ Harvey’s teammate and PWHL veteran Hayley Scamurra also praises Harvey, saying, ‘She is the most beautiful, fastest skater I’ve ever seen. Just unbelievable. She’s such a great player, and I cannot wait to see her in the pro league.’
