Shawn Eichorst, a Lone Rock, Wisconsin native and UW-Whitewater graduate, met with the media on Tuesday to discuss his new role as the athletic director of the University of Wisconsin.
Leading the Athletic Department
Eichorst emphasized that the program will only be as good as its coaches and expressed his support for Luke Fickell and the success of the program. He also acknowledged the importance of being accessible and mentioned that Wisconsin has its own unique swag, similar to Texas.
Eichorst discussed the current driving force in college athletics, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), and where Wisconsin stands on the issue. He takes over for Chris McIntosh, who left for a position with the Big Ten.
