The new mayor of Sioux Falls and the newly configured City Council are facing two significant challenges. First, they must govern effectively. Second, and more importantly, they must provide a vision defining the major issues that will impact Sioux Falls now and into the future and then convince the community that they are willing and able to translate that vision into reality.
Key Issues
Some of the issues that may be included in this vision are education, economic development, safety, clean air and water, and the expansion of Sioux Falls’ green space. However, none may be as important as addressing the impact of climate change on the community and the urgent need to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.
