A new 54,000-square-foot campus for JS Clark Leadership Academy (JSCLA) has opened in West End Opelousas, providing students with hands-on career experiences in allied health and media.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
The campus includes an allied health academy and media studio, where students can prepare for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, as well as produce news broadcasts, sports commentary, and social media content.
The school’s academic model pairs a rigorous, hands-on curriculum with meaningful career exploration and advanced, college-aligned coursework, enabling students to earn both a high school diploma and up to 60 college credits through a partnership with South Louisiana Community College.
Community Partnership
The new campus was developed with support from Building Hope, a national nonprofit that finances school facilities and supports school communities. The project was made possible through a partnership between JSCLA, Building Hope, and local construction and funding partners.
The campus will house grades 7-12, allowing JSCLA to grow its total enrollment from 490 to 720 students, drawing from a waitlist of 350 families.
