New Haven wrapped up a milestone week for its students as 1,177 New Haven Public School seniors crossed the graduation stage as the Class of 2026 — a moment of pride for families, educators, and the broader community across the city.
Among the highlights: roughly half of the graduating class is headed to college, and more than 100 graduates are moving on to vocational-technical schools, signaling strong pathways into both higher education and skilled trades for New Haven’s young people.
One of the week’s standout ceremonies took place at Hillhouse High School, where 246 graduates were saluted as part of the Class of 2026. Rain earlier in the week moved some ceremonies indoors, but the change of venue did nothing to dampen the celebratory spirit.
The graduating class represents the hard work of students, families, teachers, and staff throughout the New Haven school district — and a bright outlook for the city’s next generation as they head off to campuses, training programs, and careers.
