Denver’s Berkeley neighborhood is home to a new and unusual business: American Lore, a combination hat shop and whiskey bar. The brainchild of Cherry Creek’s Hats by Parker Thomas and Number Thirty Eight, American Lore offers a hat outfitter and workshop where guests can shape and design their own hats, as well as a saloon-inspired watering hole with a large bar and small tables.
GoodKid: A ’90s Time Capsule
In the West Highlands, GoodKid is a store that sells rare t-shirts, vintage clothing, accessories, and decor. The business donates items it doesn’t need to Growin’ Paynz, which helps people recovering from addiction. GoodKid is open and offers a unique shopping experience, with a Nintendo 64 set up with ‘Mario Kart’ and ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2’ in the back, and a big old Zenith TV playing VHS tapes upstairs.
Jack’s Modern Steakhouse, the sister restaurant of Jack’s on Pearl, has reopened its Lone Tree location after an electrical fire and smoke damage shut it down for three months. The family-owned restaurant offers a two-story steakhouse with mountain views and a large patio, as well as a speakeasy bar called Blind Tiger on the lower level.
The Underground Music Showcase will take place in RiNo from July 24-26, featuring over 200 local and national acts performing at venues and stages throughout Denver’s artsy neighborhood.
