NeuroGlow expands ketamine clinic in Alliance, eyes psychedelic therapy future

NeuroGlow, a Tarrant‑based mental‑health provider, opened a larger clinic in the Alliance area of Fort Worth earlier this year, marking its third North Texas location after Fort Worth and McKinney. The expansion reflects growing demand for fast‑acting ketamine and esketamine (Spravato) treatments for patients whose depression has not responded to traditional medications.

How the clinic works

Patients first meet with a nurse practitioner for a thorough evaluation to determine eligibility. They then see an integrative therapist for two additional sessions that focus on mental alignment and setting treatment intentions. During IV ketamine infusions, patients often describe a dream‑like state, while Spravato’s nasal spray is designed to be less dissociative, allowing patients to read, journal or listen to music after administration. Vital signs are continuously monitored, and patients must arrange transportation home after each session.

Clinical perspective

According to the Cleveland Clinic, ketamine and its derivative esketamine may help the brain form new neural connections, potentially lifting mood and reducing depressive symptoms. Psychiatrist Dr. Adam Kaplin called esketamine “a revolutionary therapy” that offers hope for those who have struggled for decades with depression. However, some researchers caution that study designs may overstate benefits, noting concerns about unblinding in clinical trials.

Business outlook and future therapies

CEO Reese Ormand, who first experienced the treatment as a patient, says the clinic’s growth is tied to expanding research and acceptance of ketamine and other psychedelic medicines. He envisions NeuroGlow evolving from a ketamine clinic chain into a broader “psychedelic therapy platform,” anticipating FDA approval for psilocybin and MDMA‑based products in the coming years.

Ormand points to recent policy support, including President Donald Trump’s executive order directing the FDA to expedite review of qualifying psychedelic medicines and allocating $50 million for state‑level research. Texas also approved $50 million in 2025 for an ibogaine research consortium, underscoring state commitment to exploring novel mental‑health treatments.

Local competition and market growth

Other Fort Worth providers, such as Nura Therapy and Vigeo Wellness, also offer ketamine and Spravato. Industry analysts expect the ketamine market to continue expanding as more patients seek rapid‑acting options.

What this means for North Texas families

For families dealing with treatment‑resistant depression, NeuroGlow’s expanded facility offers a locally accessible, professionally supervised option that combines medication with therapy. The clinic’s emphasis on a calming environment—private rooms, weighted blankets, and intentional lighting—aims to put patients in the best mindset for recovery.
