Nasal Spray Recall Over Infection Risk

Beekeeper’s Naturals has voluntarily recalled a specific lot of its Saline Nasal Spray sold only through Amazon due to possible fungal contamination. The recall affects lot number 5950 with an expiration date of February 2028.

Contamination Risks

Testing found microbial contamination that may include Aspergillus spp., which could pose serious health risks for certain consumers, particularly those with weakened immune systems or lung diseases. According to the company, there is a reasonable probability that use of the product with Aspergillus spp. contamination will cause serious and life-threatening infections such as invasive sinusitis and lung infections.

Beekeeper’s Naturals has received four reports of adverse reactions that may be related to the recalled product. Reported symptoms include sinus congestion, irritation, and infection. The company has already worked with Amazon to directly notify purchasers of the affected lot.

Consumers can identify the affected product by checking the lot number and expiration date printed on the bottom or back label. The company advised consumers to stop using the recalled product immediately if the label shows lot number 5950 with an expiration date of February 2028.

Beekeeper’s Naturals is offering refunds and encouraged customers with questions to contact its consumer support line at 1-888-759-6910 or [email protected]. The company urged consumers who believe they have experienced health problems related to the product to contact a physician or health care provider.
