Residents of Naperville have an opportunity to influence the future of their downtown area as the city’s Transportation, Engineering, and Development Business (TED) Group hosts public input sessions for the third phase of the Downtown Streetscape Project. These sessions are scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Naperville Municipal Center.
Community Engagement
The sessions will be held from 8:30 to 10 AM and from 4:30 to 6:30 PM in Meeting Rooms A&B at 400 S. Eagle St. This open house-style event allows residents to view proposed alternative exhibit boards and engage directly with city staff and consultants. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and provide feedback that will be considered in the final design and construction documents.
Project Details
The third phase of the Downtown Streetscape Project aims to revitalize Jefferson Avenue between Washington Street and Main Street, and Main Street between Jefferson Avenue and Van Buren Avenue. The project, set to begin construction in the spring of 2027, includes comprehensive road reconstruction, utility repairs, and streetscape modernization. The design will enhance pedestrian mobility and accessibility, create new spaces for trees, and open areas for local businesses.
For those unable to attend the sessions, feedback can be submitted via email to [email protected] until Friday, June 12, 2026. Additional project information and exhibit boards are available online at www.naperville.il.us/dtprogress.
