Missouri State slugger Caden Bogenpohl became the latest Bear to hear his name called in the early rounds of the MLB Draft. The 6-foot-6, 245-pound in-state product from Jackson was selected Saturday with the 64th overall pick (second round) by the Philadelphia Phillies.
His pick value, according to MLB.com, is $1.42 million. Bogenpohl, a center fielder, played three college seasons, finishing as MSU’s all-time leader in walks (160) while also ranking seventh in career runs (180), ninth in on-base percentage (.441) and 12th in home runs (39).
MLB Draft Combine Performance
At the MLB Draft Combine, Bogenpohl had five swings that led to exit velocities of at least 114 mph. He had the hardest hit of the event, a home run clocked at 119.4 mph. MLB.com recently ranked Bogenpohl No. 93 in its latest Top 250 MLB Draft Prospects of 2026.
