A motorcycle crash near Gillette has resulted in one fatality and one injury. According to a preliminary report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on July 3 when the rear tire of a Harley Davidson motorcycle went flat, causing the driver to lose control. The riders, who were both wearing helmets, were thrown from the motorcycle when it crashed.
Details of the Crash
The passenger, Alta Davis, 52, was life-flighted to Billings for multiple injuries, including broken bones and brain damage. She slipped into a coma and died on July 8. The driver, Denton Davis, was transported to the emergency room in Gillette with injuries to his ribs and a small brain bleed. He has since been released.
A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family. Alta was a teacher at Early Head Start and had been a day care and preschool provider for years before that.
