The U.S. Taekwondo Center, with locations in Monument and Colorado Springs, is marking its 40th anniversary by hosting a Break-A-Thon event this Saturday. The event aims to raise funds for Angels of America’s Fallen, a charity supporting children of fallen veterans.

Community Event with a Cause

The Break-A-Thon will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vista Ridge High School. This public event will feature a lively, pep rally-like atmosphere where students will demonstrate their skills by breaking boards. Each participant has created a personal fundraising website to collect donations for the cause.

In addition to the board-breaking demonstrations, the event will include a bounce house and face painting. Beginners in the audience who make a donation will also have the opportunity to learn and try their hand at board breaking. Those interested in participating are encouraged to arrive before 11:30 a.m.

The U.S. Taekwondo Center was founded in 1986 by Grand Master Sang Lee, the first head coach of the U.S.A. Taekwondo Olympic team. The center is now led by his son, Master Jay Lee, who continues to uphold the legacy of excellence and community service.
