A shelter-in-place has been issued for the Montecito Heights community as crews work to extinguish a brush fire, the Los Angeles Fire Department said on Monday.
The fire was reported at 3:19 p.m. near Ernest Debs Park. Residents who live near the park are urged to close their doors and windows and bring their pets inside to prevent exposure to the smoke.
Crews remain on scene battling the blaze. It’s unclear what started it.
