The Pittsburgh Pirates swept a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, winning the first game 7-6 and the second game 3-2.
In the first game, Esmerlyn Valdez delivered a go-ahead grand slam to help the Pirates win. Valdez had six RBIs and connected for his second home run of the game in the seventh to put Pittsburgh back in front.
In the second game, Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-3 and drove in the go-ahead run for Pittsburgh. Starting pitcher Bubba Chandler struck out six while limiting the Brewers to two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings.
