The Minnesota Twins have announced that right-handed pitcher Bailey Ober has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right elbow. This decision follows Ober’s recent performance where he allowed eight runs, seven of which were earned, in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates that ended in a 10-9 loss.
Ober’s Season and Career Performance
At 30 years old, Ober has been a key player for the Twins this season, boasting a 6-3 record with a 4.59 ERA over 12 starts. Since his debut with the Twins in 2021, Ober has accumulated a career record of 37-33 with a 4.13 ERA, striking out 650 batters and walking 151 over 684 1/3 innings.
Team Roster Adjustments
In response to Ober’s injury, the Twins have made several roster changes. They have selected the contract of right-hander Mike Paredes, who is set to make his major league debut. Paredes, 25, has a record of 3-2 with a 4.44 ERA in 13 games this season, split between Triple-A St. Paul and Double-A Wichita.
Additionally, the team has optioned right-hander John Klein to Triple-A St. Paul. Klein, 24, was recently recalled and pitched two innings against the Pirates, allowing one hit and walking three batters. He holds a 0-1 record with a 4.15 ERA in three relief appearances this season.
Right-hander Travis Adams has also been recalled from St. Paul. Adams, 26, has a 1-0 record with one save and a 7.20 ERA in seven games out of the bullpen this season.
