Nessel criticized state party leadership for not doing enough to protect members or address misconduct. She pointed to five Democratic Party members who currently face charges related to antisemitic vandalism, harassment, and threats against officials and organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Detroit.

Nessel called on the party to implement and enforce a code of conduct to prevent harassment and disruption during party events, emphasizing the need to restore civil discourse and permit diverse viewpoints. She also addressed rhetoric from Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, urging him to moderate his language regarding Israel and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
