At least three more men have been arrested in South Florida amid ongoing undercover child sex trafficking enforcement efforts surrounding the 2026 World Cup, records showed.
Undercover Operation
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force, Miami Police and other agencies to crack down on people seeking to sexually exploit children during the soccer tournament.
In the operation, undercover detectives post online advertisements depicting females with a phone number. When the suspects call the number, they’re told the girls are available for sexual services in exchange for money.
The most recent operation happened Thursday in Virginia Gardens. According to arrest reports, the suspects contacted the number and agreed to pay hundreds of dollars in exchange for having sex with multiple juvenile females.
When the men arrive and pay the undercover detective, then enter a room for the sex acts, they’re taken into custody, the reports said.
The three recent suspects – which include an 18-year-old from Hialeah, a 23-year-old from Surfside, and a 30-year-old from Miami Beach – face charges including human trafficking and traveling to meet a minor.
Previous Arrests
At least a dozen men were previously arrested in a similar operation in Homestead, and seven others in a sex trafficking crackdown in Broward dubbed “Operation Red Card.”
