Metro‑North Railroad is stepping up service for baseball fans in Connecticut and the greater New York area as the 2026 American League Wild Card Series approaches. The Yankees will host the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, Wednesday and, if necessary, Thursday evening, and the railroad is adding extra Yankee Clipper trains on all three of its main lines.
Expanded service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines
In addition to the regular Yankee Clipper schedule, Metro‑North will run extra trains on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines. The goal is to give families, friends and faithful supporters a convenient, reliable way to reach the stadium without having to battle traffic on the highways.
On the New Haven Line, two dedicated Yankee Clipper “one‑seat‑ride” trains will depart New Haven at 4:07 p.m. and 4:47 p.m. Each train will pick up passengers at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield‑Black Rock, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Noroton Heights, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye, Larchmont and New Rochelle before arriving at the Yankees‑E 153rd Street station at 6:08 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., respectively.
Shuttle connections and subway support
Shuttle trains will run each day between Grand Central, Harlem‑125th Street and the Yankees‑E 153rd Street station, allowing fans to connect from Long Island Rail Road service at Grand Central or from regular Harlem and New Haven Line trains at Harlem‑125th Street for the short final leg to the ballpark.
The New York City Subway will also add extra trains after each game, supplementing its regular service and providing additional capacity for the crowds leaving the stadium.
How to plan your trip
Schedules, fare information and real‑time updates are available on the TrainTime app and on the MTA website (mta.info). Riders are encouraged to check the app before traveling, as the extra trains are subject to change based on demand and operational considerations.
By expanding rail service, Metro‑North is helping families and faithful baseball fans travel safely and efficiently, reducing road congestion and supporting the local economies of the Connecticut towns along the route. The added trains reflect a commitment to community‑focused transportation solutions that keep families together and make it easier for supporters to cheer on their teams.
Whether you are a lifelong Yankees fan, a Red Sox supporter, or simply looking for a convenient way to enjoy America’s pastime, the extra Yankee Clipper service offers a reliable option for getting to Yankee Stadium for the 2026 Wild Card series.
