Clark County Public Health is investigating a confirmed case of measles in a local child. The unvaccinated child, who is not identified, visited the Vancouver Clinic at Salmon Creek on July 17 while contagious.
Measles Investigation Underway
People who were at the Vancouver Clinic Salmon Creek, located at 2525 NE 139th St, between 1:30-5:30 PM on July 17 may have been exposed to measles. Those who have not been vaccinated against measles or have not had measles in the past are at risk for getting sick and should stay home and out of public places for 21 days.
Measles is a highly contagious and potentially serious illness caused by a virus. It spreads through the air after a person with measles coughs or sneezes. Symptoms begin with a fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes, followed by a rash that usually begins at the head and spreads to the rest of the body.
