A 30-year-old Pittsfield pharmacist, Joshua Bradley, is facing federal charges after prosecutors say he stole Adderall and its generic equivalent from a national retail chain where he worked.
Charges and Investigation
Bradley was charged in Boston federal court with five counts of acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, deception, and subterfuge. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Sept. 9, 2026.
According to court records, Bradley diverted quantities of dextroamphetamine—generic Adderall—for his own use on four separate dates in August, September, and November 2024. Prosecutors allege he also took brand-name Adderall on Nov. 10, 2024. The prescriptions were originally filled for pharmacy customers.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are set by a federal judge using the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant criminal statutes.
U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and DEA Special Agent in Charge Jarod A. Forget announced the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan Cleary of the Health Care Fraud Unit is handling the prosecution.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Massachusetts State Police, the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department, and local police departments in Barnstable, Harwich, Bourne, Brewster, Sandwich, Falmouth, Mashpee, Yarmouth, and Dennis.
