Mass. Man Arrested After Police Chase

A man accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase through two Massachusetts towns on Tuesday, at one point swimming across a river and into the woods before later being arrested, appeared in court Wednesday.

Chase Details

Dominick Revell, 54, faced a marked lanes violation and a leaving the scene of property damage charge in Milford District Court. Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf as the Franklin resident stood in the courtroom, his long hair covering his face.

The judge ordered he be held on cash bail for the two counts but revoked bail in two earlier cases — police had said Tuesday that Revell has an “extensive criminal history,” including active warrants for his arrest and a revoked driver’s license.

Tuesday’s chase began in Bellingham just before 9 a.m., when an officer attempted to stop Revell’s Ford Ranger pickup truck on Pulaski Boulevard, police there said. The vehicle failed to stop for police and a chase ensued into nearby Franklin, where officers from that town’s police department joined in.

During the pursuit, police said stop sticks were successfully deployed on Grove Street in Franklin, deflating the vehicle’s passenger-side tires. Despite the tire damage, the vehicle continued traveling through Franklin, briefly approaching the Medway town line before coming to a stop on Pond Street in Franklin, police said.

After stopping, the driver, believed to be Revell, got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. He jumped over a fence, swam across a small river and continued into a wooded area. Officers from Bellingham and Franklin established a perimeter and called in regional K9 teams and drone operators.
