A Mason police officer, Brandon Saylor, was fired for insubordination after wearing a department-issued hat that wasn’t authorized with the standard uniform. Saylor’s representatives argue that the firing was excessive and that he was following the department’s tattoo policy, which doesn’t allow tattoos to be visible on duty.
Uniform Policy Issue
Saylor spent four years working for Mason, two of them with the police department. His lawyer sent a statement calling the firing extreme and disproportionate. The Mason Police Department has not commented on the termination.
