Maryland Stadium Authority Appoints New Director

The Maryland Stadium Authority has appointed Lindsey V. Parker as its next executive director, starting in September. Parker will succeed Manervia W. Riddick, a 17-year member of the Maryland Stadium Authority board, who has served as interim executive director following the retirement of Executive Director Michael Frenz in April.

Leadership Experience

Parker brings more than 15 years of senior executive leadership in public administration, technology, and organizational transformation, including most recently as senior advisor to Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. She led D.C.’s redevelopment strategy for the 180-acre RFK Stadium campus and previously served as Bowser’s chief of staff, coordinating execution across a $21 billion government and 34,000-employee organization.

“The Maryland Stadium Authority is a major player in the economic engine of the state, and I couldn’t be more excited to join this team and work with this Board to continue a 40-year win streak by delivering more opportunities for residents, visitors and businesses alike,” Parker said.

Statewide Impact

Parker’s appointment comes as the state works to enhance its stadium complexes, including the $400 million redevelopment of Pimlico Race Course, home of the Preakness Stakes. On Thursday, Maryland announced it has closed a deal with 1/ST Racing to buy the Preakness Stakes’ intellectual property.

“We are proud to welcome Lindsey Parker to Team Maryland,” said Gov. Wes Moore. “MSA’s work touches communities across the state, and together we are building a Maryland that leads with excellence and leaves no one behind.”
