A new online tool has been launched in Maryland to help Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) customers find employment and training opportunities. This initiative comes as federal changes have caused at least 35,861 Marylanders to lose their SNAP benefits.

According to Gov. Wes Moore, the goal is to provide pathways to meaningful careers for those who need it most. The Maryland Department of Human Services has partnered with 46 SNAP Employment and Training providers across the state, expanding its provider network by 48%.
SNAP recipients can access free training and education services, as well as support services like transportation, clothing, safety equipment, soft skills training, resume building, and job search assistance. The state has also rolled out new chip-and-tap Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards, allowing SNAP recipients to access their funds more conveniently and securely.
