Fox News Media confirmed Thursday that Maria Bartiromo, the veteran financial journalist who has anchored “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business Network for more than a decade, is no longer with the company. The statement thanked her for her service over the past 12½ years and wished her well in her next chapter, but offered no explanation for the separation.
Bartiromo’s daily program will be renamed “Mornings with Fox Business” and will feature a rotating roster of anchors. Her other Fox Business show, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” will become “FBN’s Wall Street,” also using rotating hosts. Meanwhile, her weekly Fox News program “Sunday Morning Futures” will be temporarily hosted by former congressman Jason Chaffetz.

President Donald Trump, who has frequently praised Bartiromo and granted her multiple interviews, called her a “great reporter” in past remarks. Vice President JD Vance, speaking to reporters Thursday, said he had not spoken with Bartiromo and did not know the details of her departure, but added, “I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent. Whatever she does, she’s gonna do great, and I wish her all the best. She’s a very, very dear friend.”
Background and prior lawsuits
The departure comes after a 2025 lawsuit in which voting‑technology firm Smartmatic alleged that Bartiromo spread false rumors about election fraud on air—a claim she has consistently denied. She also faced a prior lawsuit involving Fox and Dominion Voting Systems, which was settled in 2023 after she described accusations that she lobbied former Attorney General William Barr to investigate alleged voter fraud as “absurd.”
Before joining Fox, Bartiromo spent two decades at CNBC, where she pioneered live reporting from the New York Stock Exchange floor and earned an Emmy for a documentary on Google. Earlier in her career she worked for CNN.
Fox News has seen other high‑profile departures in recent years, including Tucker Carlson, Bill O’Reilly, and former Fox personality Pete Hegseth, who left in 2024 after being nominated as President Donald Trump’s secretary of defense.
