A man is dead and a woman was shot on Monday night in what may have been an attempted murder-suicide in Hardin County. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence disturbance on Monday around 6:25 p.m. in the 75 block of Battle Drive, Elizabethtown.
Once deputies arrived, they heard a gunshot coming from inside the residence. Deputies then say a woman came out of the house who was shot in the chest. Deputies entered and searched the home, where they found a man with what deputies think was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and later released. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating.
