Luckey Residents Invited to Name New Village Park

The Village of Luckey, Ohio, is calling on its residents and students from Eastwood Community Schools to help name a new park. This park is located on the site of the former Luckey Elementary School, which stood on Krotzer Avenue for over a century before its demolition.

Community Involvement Encouraged

Village council member Donald Withrow has extended an invitation to the community to submit their ideas for the park’s name. This initiative aims to engage local residents and students in a meaningful way, allowing them to leave a lasting mark on their community.

Submissions can be sent via email to [email protected] by June 10. The village council will review the entries and select a winning name. The individual who submits the chosen name will be recognized at the council meeting on June 17.

A New Chapter for a Historic Site

The park’s location holds historical significance for the village, as it was once home to Luckey Elementary School. The school served the community for more than 100 years, making this new park a symbol of both continuity and change in Luckey.

This initiative reflects the village’s commitment to fostering community spirit and honoring its heritage while looking forward to the future. By involving residents and students in the naming process, the village council is reinforcing the importance of community participation in local developments.
