Louisville has a variety of events happening this weekend, including the 57th Annual Street Rod Nationals, which will take place at the Kentucky Exposition Center from August 6-9. This event brings car enthusiasts together with thousands of classic street rods, custom-built cars, and more.
Other Events
The 177th annual St. Joe’s Picnic for the kids will feature live music, raffles, games, and food, with all proceeds benefiting children living at St. Joseph’s Children’s Home. The picnic will run from 5-11 p.m. on Friday and noon to midnight on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Sky Soul Festival will bring icons from the R&B and hip-hop genres to Waterfront Park, with gates opening at 3 p.m. The festival will feature artists such as Bobby Brown, Busta Rhymes, and Fantasia.
Additionally, Fourth Street Live! will host country singer Tyler Hubbard as part of its Hot Country Nights lineup, with doors opening at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets start at $31 for general admission.
Louisville’s year-round Halloween and horror store, Caufield’s, will also host its annual Creepfest this weekend, featuring over 80 vendors showcasing all things spooky and scary.
Road Closures
Several streets will be closed throughout the weekend due to the various events. The Louisville Metro Police Department has announced that the following roads will be closed:
- Phillips Lane from Preston Highway to Crittenden Drive
- Monarch Drive from Phillips Lane to Manning Road
- James Road from Phillips Lane to the end
- Emberson Avenue from Phillips Lane to the end
- Crittenden Drive from Interstate 264 to Interstate 65
On Saturday, additional roads will be closed, including Gast Boulevard from Dutchmans Lane to Roger E Schupp Street, and Witherspoon Street from Brook Street to Preston Street.
