Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced that her office will investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci, following his invocation of the Fifth Amendment right during a Senate hearing.
Fauci’s Fifth Amendment Pleas
Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times during the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry expressed support for the investigation, stating that he is happy to have Louisiana join Alabama and Florida in investigating Fauci.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville noted that Fauci’s federal pardon does not shield him from potential state prosecutions, as presidential pardons apply only to offenses against the United States.
