Loaves & Fishes Community Services has closed a New Markets Tax Credit transaction, generating approximately $2 million in net proceeds to help expand healthy food access and connect more neighbors with programs that support self-sufficiency. This work is part of the organization’s $15 million Nourish Together Campaign, which will build the capacity, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to serve more neighbors across DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties.
Nourish Together Campaign
The Nourish Together Campaign is designed to support Loaves & Fishes’ continued growth as it serves approximately 10,000 people each week through grocery assistance, CARES programs, and a growing network of community-based access points. Through Nourish Together, Loaves & Fishes will expand its Aurora Food Distribution Hub, strengthen regional partnerships, and increase its ability to serve more neighbors with fresh, nutritious food closer to home.
Loaves & Fishes Community Services is a registered 501(3) organization serving about 10,000 people a week by providing healthy food and impactful programs for self-sufficiency. It is the largest food pantry in the state of Illinois. Clients receive a healthy variety of food, including fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, and eggs.
The Loaves & Fishes CARES programs help clients become more self-sufficient through programs focusing on Physical Health, Financial Health, Employment Health, and Mental Health. Loaves & Fishes serves DuPage, Will, Kane, and Kendall counties. Loaves & Fishes Grocery Market and administrative offices are located in Naperville, and their Food Distribution Hub is located in Aurora.
