Lilac City Comicon Returns to Spokane with Exciting Lineup

The 20th Annual Lilac City Comicon is set to bring excitement to Spokane, Washington, as it returns to the Spokane Convention Center on June 6-7. This all-ages event is the largest comic book and pop culture convention in Eastern Washington, attracting over 10,000 attendees each year.

The convention will feature 300 exhibitors and artists spread across more than 85,000 square feet of exhibit space. Attendees can explore a wide range of comics, arts and crafts, games, books, collectibles, toys, and props. Additionally, instructional panels will be available for those looking to learn more about various aspects of pop culture.

Cosplay Contests and Community Support

A highlight of the event is the Costume Cosplay contest, which includes an Adults Cosplay Contest on Saturday at 5 p.m. and a Kids Cosplay Contest on Sunday at 3 p.m. These contests provide an opportunity for fans to showcase their creativity and passion for their favorite characters.

The Lilac City Comicon is also committed to supporting the local community. The event will collect non-perishable food items to benefit ‘Our Place Community Outreach.’ Furthermore, 25% of all merchandise sales will go towards the ‘Jesse Acosta Memorial Art Scholarship Fund,’ which assists incoming art students at Spokane Falls Community College.

This year’s special guests include Tara Sands, known for voicing 50 Pokemon characters, WWE Hall of Fame Wrestler Rob Van Dam, Lenore Zann, the voice of ‘Rogue’ in X-Men the Animated Series, and Keith Coogan, an actor in ‘Adventures in Babysitting’ and voice actor in ‘The Fox & The Hound.’
