League City Backs $19.6M FM 270 Widening Project

League City City Council voted unanimously at its June 9 meeting to support the widening of FM 270 from FM 518 to FM 646, a project currently spearheaded by the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Project Details

The project would widen portions of the roadway from two lanes to a four-lane divided facility and includes drainage, access management, sidewalks, shared-use paths and bicycle improvements.

City Council also approved entering an agreement with the TxDOT for traffic and drainage improvements at the intersection of Walker Street and Hwy. 96. The project is expected to cost $2.76 million and will be funded through the 2018 Galveston County bond program.
