Recently released documentary footage features the late Sen. Lindsey Graham discussing his efforts to push for war with Iran, referring to it as ‘the best thing I’ve ever done’. Graham, known for his hawkish stance on foreign policy, had granted access to British filmmaker Alex Holder, who captured over 400 hours of footage of the senator over several years.

Graham’s Involvement in Iran War Efforts

Graham had positioned himself at the center of former President Donald Trump’s key ambitions, including the Iran war and a significant modernization of the Pentagon. The documentary features calls with Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former national security adviser Jake Sullivan, showcasing Graham’s involvement in cheering on the war efforts.

In one clip, Graham is seen talking with Netanyahu and describing his conversations with the president, encouraging him to take more action with Israel. Graham also compares Trump and Netanyahu to Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, highlighting their potential as wartime leaders.

However, some of Graham’s predictions regarding the war with Iran have proven to be inaccurate. In March, Graham stated that ‘in three to four weeks, we should have them in a spot where they start losing control of some cities … get the Arabs more openly involved tomorrow, or by the end of the week, and then have almost irreversible momentum’ during a call with Sullivan.

Documentary Release and Graham’s Legacy

Holder aims to release the full documentary, titled ‘Lindsey’s Game’, in the coming months. Graham had agreed to the project to leave a legacy and inspire others to work in government. Graham passed away earlier this month at the age of 71, with memorial services scheduled to take place in Washington and his home state of South Carolina.
