The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) successfully used a drone to prevent a burglary attempt. The homeowner, who was out of town, had been alerted by their security cameras that someone was trying to get inside their Las Vegas home near Desert Inn and Arville.
Drone Deployment
An LVMPD drone was launched from a SkyPort and quickly located the suspect outside the residence. The drone pilot and dispatcher worked together to guide responding officers to the location, leading to an arrest.
According to LVMPD, their drones have flown over 12,000 flights so far in 2026, with drones arriving on scene before officers more than 70% of the time. This results in faster response times, better situational awareness, and safer outcomes for the community.
