A Las Cruces-born saxophonist, Orlando Madrid, played the national anthem for thousands ahead of the Padres-Dodgers matchup. Madrid, who now lives in El Paso, has performed with the Lakers beforehand and has also played around the world, including a concert on the Great Wall of China and with the Jazz Quartet at the Louvre in Paris, France.
