The Las Cruces Police Department is urging drivers to secure their vehicles after a string of recent auto burglaries in the city. On Thursday, police reported four car burglaries that occurred overnight in a neighborhood near Rinconada Boulevard.

The burglaries happened at around 2 a.m., with suspects roaming the neighborhood and checking for unlocked car doors. Police believe the thieves stole items from the inside of the vehicles. The incidents did not occur in just one neighborhood, as police reported other burglaries throughout the city.
The Las Cruces Police Department has released a list of tips to help keep cars safe, including always locking doors and keeping valuables out of sight. Police are also asking anyone with information about the car burglaries to come forward and call them at (575) 526-0795.
