Las Cruces Bowling Alley’s Future Unclear

The former 10 Pin Alley building in Las Cruces, New Mexico, has been a stark reminder of a tragic event that occurred on February 10, 1990. A massacre took the lives of two adults and three children, leaving two survivors. The suspects have never been caught.

Community Reaction

Las Cruces residents were informally polled on the Cemetery Snoop Facebook page about what should happen to the building. Eighty-one votes were in favor of tearing down the building and letting a new business build, while forty votes were in favor of restoring the current building for another bowling alley. Thirty-six votes were in favor of tearing down the structure and building a memorial for the victims.

The victims of the massacre were Steven Teran, Paula Holguin, Valerie Teran, Amy Houser, and Stephanie Senac, who died of her injuries nine years later. The survivors were Melissa Repass and Ida Holguin. The Las Cruces-Doña Ana County CrimeStoppers continues to offer a $25,000 reward for information that helps identify the men responsible for the mass-shooting.

The building’s current owner, 828 Productions, did not respond to a request for comment on their plans for the property. The community is still seeking closure and justice for the victims and their families.
