Lake Worth ISD’s second annual Bullfrog Back-To-School Bash was held at Lake Worth High School on Saturday, providing families with free backpacks, haircuts, immunizations, and other essential supplies for the upcoming school year.

Supporting Local Families

The event, which was organized with the help of Servolution Network, a local nonprofit, aimed to ensure that students have the necessary resources to succeed in the new school year. Over 2,000 families were expected to attend, with around 350 backpacks distributed last year.

For many families, the event was a welcome relief, as the cost of back-to-school supplies can be a significant burden. According to the latest state enrollment data, about 89% of students in Lake Worth ISD come from low-income families.

A Community Effort

The event was made possible through the efforts of local community organizations, including Servolution Network, which raised around $68,000 for the program. Volunteers from the organization helped distribute supplies and provided support to families attending the event.

For parents like Robrianna Emerson, the event was an opportunity to get her children ready for the new school year. Her daughter, who is entering kindergarten, was excited to receive her new backpack and supplies, while her son, who is entering first grade, was looking forward to meeting new people and showing his teachers what he can do.
