Louisiana has seen significant improvements in academic rankings, moving from 49th place in 2019 to 32nd place in national rankings on The Nation’s Report Card. The state also earned top rankings on the Education Scorecard from Harvard, Stanford, and Dartmouth, placing first in reading growth and second in math growth.
Brumley connected his call for order to these recent statewide academic improvements, stating that structured, orderly environments remain essential to sustaining student achievement. He highlighted House Resolution 333, passed during the recent legislative session, which directs school systems to fully enforce the state’s existing anti-bullying statutes.
