Sandi Thares, owner of the O-Haire Inn in downtown Great Falls, Montana, has been serving as president of the Great Falls Police Community Foundation for nearly 10 years. During her tenure, the foundation has raised over half a million dollars to support the local police department.

Supporting Law Enforcement

Thares’ connection to the police department began 11 years ago when she attended her first Citizens Academy. She became a supporter of the agency and was later approached to join the foundation’s board. As president, Thares has helped strengthen support for the department across the community.

The foundation’s funds have been used to pay for training and equipment that the city budget does not cover, with the goal of helping officers do their jobs more safely. Thares also volunteers with the police department through jail call monitoring and the Citizens Academy.

After the summer, Thares plans to step down as foundation president but will continue to volunteer with the agency. Her leadership has been pivotal in building support for the police department, and her work has made a significant impact on the community.
